Lantern presents inventory recommendations in the context of an item and location. The same item can have different recommendations at different locations.

Understand the labels

Your company may use Min/Max or Order Point/Line Point terminology. Use the names shown in your workspace. Recommendations are planning values. Review them alongside the available inventory, demand, lead-time, and order-cycle context before applying them.

Find and review an item

  1. Open Min/Max or Order/Line Points.
  2. Search by Item ID or Description.
  3. Confirm the location. Review any active filters and sorting so you understand which rows are visible.
  4. Compare current and recommended values for the item/location.
  5. Open the item’s details, where available, to inspect the supporting context and any existing overrides or boundaries.
If an item does not appear, clear the search and filters, confirm the location, and check whether your account has access to that item or page.

Review planning inputs

When enabled for your company, use Smart Lead Times, Smart Order Frequencies, Safety Stock, and Item Links to understand the settings that support your planning workflow. If a recommendation looks unexpected, first check the item, location, planning inputs, and any override or boundary. Contact support with a specific example if you still need help explaining the result.

Approvals and exports

Available approval and export options depend on your company’s setup and your access. Before confirming an action:
  1. Review the selected items, locations, and filters.
  2. Confirm whether the action applies to selected rows or a broader filtered set.
  3. Check the values and destination shown in the confirmation dialog.
  4. Follow your team’s approval process.
Where an ERP export is available, review its progress and result before starting another export. A recommendation review, an approval, a downloaded file, and an ERP export are separate steps; use the status shown in your workspace to confirm what has completed.
